GM Upgrades Its Super Cruise System

General Motors is increasing the availability of its Super Cruise advanced driving assistance system to new vehicles while also improving the technology. Vehicles will receive the upgrades via an over-the-air update.

When carrying cargo, the improved Super Cruise now functions. Super Cruise now has the ability to change lanes automatically. GM, on the other hand, claims that these movements are not possible while pulling a trailer.

Inside, the system's navigation display has been updated to indicate suitable roads. When inputting a location, it can also show routes that allow for hands-free driving.

GMC has previously teased the appearance of the Super Cruise system display on the GMC Sierra Denali 2022. The speedometer is on the left, the tachometer is on the right, and navigation is in the middle of the truck's digital instrument panel. Like other Super Cruise-equipped vehicles, the steering wheel now has an illuminated strip at the top.

The 2022 Silverado with Super Cruise is expected to sport a similar instrument display. The Chevy and GMC Sierra are essentially the same car with many of the same components.

GM also reveals that Super Cruise will be available in the Cadillac Lyriq and GMC Hummer SUVs in 2023. The technology will be available on 22 cars by 2023, according to the firm.

The technology will be accessible in the Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac CT4, Cadillac CT5, Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Hummer EV Pickup, and GMC Sierra models in 2022. To be clear, the 2022 Cadillac XT6 and 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV retain Super Cruise but do not receive these improvements.
