Aptera a startup in California after having a bad memory with its solar vehicle back in 2011, now is back. This time with a newer model which has overcame the previous problems and also could be used for a long range. This is three wheeled solar cars.
Aptera, which means sun in Spanish, has recently tested its three wheeled vehicles on a sunny day in San Diego. In 2011 this startup came up with Aptera e2 vehicle, but as it was unable to secure the bag for the production, the project shut down. Later, this firm came up with a new prototype which company named it “Noir”. That means black, and this vehicle is all-black.
It’s the second built model of new vehicle, on the San Diego roads. Sol, is the new three-wheeled vehicle. Its in black and white. The design is very impressive. Known or unknown, the body structure can help to reduce energy loss as it has a great aerodynamic efficiency.
On this vehicle, tow passengers can fit very easily, although the exterior design may fool you. And even more, you can have luggage too. Even, this petite car, can be a camper by attaching a tent to the rear.
What comes more importantly, is about interior. It has a big infotainment screen, nothing less than other electric vehicles. The roof is covered with solar panels to extend the drive on sunny days. The system is designed for more than 17,703 km, but the company it self never tried it. company also claims, the maintenance costs are minimal.
In the USA, the debut is started, and later this year, owners can have their solar cars. For having a rear clean energy vehicle, you should pay at least $25,900 for the 250 miles (400 km) version, meanwhile 1,000-mile version scores $44,900. This startup, respected its customers, and offers other customizations to have a very own one. Moreover, you can choose between FWD and AWD, different interior and exterior color schemes, and different types of solar roofs.
This car is not green at all because it requires the buyer to work for a long time to buy a very expensive tiny tricycle. That work creates greenhouse gasses. An electric bike is a much more efficient investment.

I ordered mine already , doing the math , Using it at a commuter car , I will never have to charge it!!!! And with the current buffoon in office killing America’s energy independence and driving gas prices up and up. It can’t come quick enough
I have ordered mine If used as a commuter vehicle , I will never have to charge it , so for me, it’s a great option especially with this buffoon in office who has driven gas prices up by 50% in 9 months and they show no signs of ever going down. As for Bill and his electric bike or having to work for a long time to buy a “fancy tricycle” bill sorry but you are a buffoon as well. An E bike might be great if you work 5 miles from home and don’t have to travel any major roads and live in a city that it never rains, snows or gets above 80*. Other wise , you’ll be wet , frozen or sweaty when you get to work.
