Ford has introduced significant enhancements to the E-Transit large electric van in Europe, mirroring the updates rolled out in the United States. Similar to its American counterpart, Ford has augmented the van's range by incorporating a new battery pack, with customer deliveries slated to commence in 2025.

The latest battery offering, boasting 89 kWh of usable capacity, is a standard feature in the E-Transit extended range model. This upgraded battery configuration extends the range of Europe's top-selling large electric van to a remarkable 402 km, marking a substantial 28% increase compared to the standard range model. Ford has specifically tailored the extended range model to cater to fleets operating in rural areas, colder climates, and along routes characterized by extensive highway driving.

Beyond the extended range, purchasers can anticipate not only enhanced range but also accelerated charging capabilities. The AC charge capacity of the extended range model has been elevated from 11 kW to 22 kW, enabling the van to achieve a full charge in less than six hours. Moreover, the van's DC fast charging capacity has been elevated from 115 kW to 180 kW, enabling a 10-minute charge to add up to 116 km of range. Recharging the battery from 10% to 80% capacity takes a mere 28 minutes.

In addition to improved charging and range, Ford has included a heat pump as a standard feature in the extended range model, ensuring more efficient cabin heating in cold weather conditions. The E-Transit extended range variant encompasses all the same features offered in the 2024 lineup, including a standard 5G modem, wireless software updates, an AI assistant integrated with Alexa, and Delivery Assist technology aimed at optimizing stop times and potentially saving up to 20 seconds per stop.

European consumers have the option of selecting from 19 E-Transit variants, encompassing vans and chassis cab configurations. The Ford Pro Power Onboard system can also be integrated, facilitating the utilization of 2.3 kW of power from the battery pack to operate tools and other equipment. Additionally, Ford has introduced two-year/unlimited distance service intervals for the 2024 model year.
