Toyota has unveiled the 2025 Crown for the U.S. market, with a notable addition being the introduction of the Nightshade trim, characterized by its dark-themed aesthetic. The hybrid-only crossover sees a price increase for 2025, starting at $41,440, which is $1,390 more than the previous year's model.

The 2025 Toyota Crown lineup in the U.S. comprises the XLE, Limited, and Platinum trims, with the Platinum maintaining its position as the range-topping variant. As expected, the hybrid-only powertrain options remain unchanged. The XLE, Limited, and Nightshade variants are equipped with a 2.5-liter engine and dual electric motors, delivering a combined output of 236 horsepower. This setup is paired with Toyota's electronic on-demand all-wheel-drive system.

Meanwhile, the flagship Platinum model is powered by the more potent Hybrid MAX powertrain, featuring a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine combined with dual electric motors, resulting in a total output of 340 horsepower. Power is distributed to all four wheels through a model-specific full-time electronic all-wheel-drive system.

The 2025 Toyota Crown Nightshade, based on the Limited trim, features distinctive dark accents such as black badging, trim elements (including door handles, mirror caps, shark fin, and door cladding), and 21-inch wheels finished in matte black. It is exclusively offered in Storm Cloud and Black paint finishes, unlike the other trims which retain the previous year's color palette. However, unlike the Platinum flagship, the Nightshade does not receive the extensive bi-tone treatment, including a black hood, roof, and tailgate.

Across all grades, standard features include dual 12.3-inch displays, a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, and heated and ventilated front seats. The XLE trim comes with a 6-speaker sound system, while the higher trims are upgraded to an 11-speaker JBL Premium Audio System.

New additions for 2025 include a standard head-up display and hands-free power trunk for the Platinum trim, alongside more advanced ADAS features beyond the standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite, which is included across the range.

The Platinum trim also benefits from the Adaptive Variable Suspension, adjusting settings based on the selected drive mode, and the Dynamic Rear Steering system.

U.S. buyers will not have access to special editions such as the Landscape or the Matte Metal Limited Edition, which are exclusive to the Japanese market.
